Hi everyone. I have set up a multi-language survey with a between-subject expertiment. Some of the participants will hear an audio message. Our problem is that we cannot upload an audio for the German version and another audio for the French version.
In addition, we have a question with pictures as answer options (type 111) where they can click on the message they prefer. Also here, we are not able to upload German pictures for the German version and French pictures for the French version. Thanks in advance for your support!

I think I would have a solution for your problem, but its kind of cumbersome, so I hope there is a “unipark-way” to provide different media files according to the choosen language.
If you want to try my solution I need some more information about those questions… I need the variable name (f.e.: v_19) of your language question with the language ids (f.e. 1=french, 2=english, 3=german), the variable name of the image single choice question (f.e.: v_20) and of course the question id (not the variable name) of the audio question. To make things easy you could activate your questionnaire and give me the link – then I can get that infos myself. Either way you need to upload the language specific images and audio files to your media library and give me the links to them. Than I can explain what you need to do.
30. June 2022 at 23:26 #1481David ThulGuestHello Irina,
do you let your participants choose the language via a single choice question or via the language selection within the survey?
In my example, I’ll just assume that you let the participant choose the language within the survey.
[Survey menu -> Project properties -> Internal Organization -> Language selection in the survey = enabled]
In my case, German has ID 1 and French ID 2.
Create a question for the respective language within the desired page:
Audio DE
Audio FR
Within the question menu you will find the option ”Hide question, if …” in which you can set a condition to hide the corresponding question.
In this case, the hiding condition would be, for example:
For audio DE -> language = 2 (Audio DE is hidden if the language is French)
For audio FR -> language = 1 (Audio FR is hidden if the language is German)
If you let the participant choose the language via a single choice question at the beginning of your survey, you can use the variables within the single choice question (v_x) for the hiding condition.
Kind regards
David
